Our Fibers

Sourced responsibly. Crafted to last.

Exceptional garments begin with exceptional materials.

At Fiorella Myklebust Oslo, every fibre is chosen with intention. We work exclusively with natural materials renowned for their beauty, performance, and longevity. Responsibly sourced and crafted with respect for both tradition and nature, each fibre is selected not only for how it feels today, but for how it will endure over time.

Our collections unite Norwegian minimalist design with Peru's extraordinary textile heritage, bringing together some of the world's most exceptional natural fibres to create garments of lasting quality.

Vicuña

Often referred to as the "Fibre of the Gods," vicuña is the world's rarest and finest natural fibre. Native to the high Andes of Peru, it has been treasured for centuries for its extraordinary softness, exceptional warmth, and remarkable lightness.

Vicuña is collected through the ancient Chaccu tradition, a centuries-old practice in which the animals are gently gathered, carefully shorn, and released back into their natural habitat. This sustainable method preserves both the wellbeing of the vicuña and one of Peru's most treasured cultural traditions.

Exceptionally lightweight and incredibly warm, vicuña offers a level of refinement that can only be achieved by nature itself. Its rarity and beauty make every vicuña garment an enduring expression of craftsmanship.

Baby Alpaca

Baby alpaca is among the finest natural fibres in the world, celebrated for its exceptional softness, warmth, and durability. Despite its name, it does not come from baby alpacas. Instead, the term refers to the finest grade of alpaca fibre, carefully selected for its exceptional fineness and quality.

Raised in the Peruvian Andes, alpacas produce a fibre naturally adapted to extreme climates. Microscopic air pockets within each fibre provide outstanding thermal insulation while remaining breathable and lightweight, creating garments that offer warmth without unnecessary weight.

Naturally hypoallergenic and free from lanolin, baby alpaca is exceptionally comfortable against the skin while its resilience helps garments retain their beauty and shape for years of wear.

Suri Alpaca

One of the rarest alpaca breeds, Suri alpaca is distinguished by its long, silky fibres and natural lustre. Unlike traditional alpaca, its smooth, flowing fleece creates fabrics with an elegant drape, exceptional softness, and a refined finish.

Its unique character brings quiet sophistication to every garment, combining luxurious comfort with remarkable durability.

Merino Wool

We complement our collections with carefully selected premium wool, chosen for its natural resilience, warmth, and versatility. Combined with alpaca and vicuña, it enhances the structure, performance, and longevity of our garments while maintaining the comfort and beauty of natural fibres.

Every wool fibre is selected according to the same uncompromising standards of quality, responsible sourcing, and enduring craftsmanship that define Fiorella Myklebust Oslo.

Natural Finishing Materials

The beauty of a garment lies in its details.

From breathable cupro linings to genuine horn buttons, every finishing material is chosen with the same care as our fibres. Natural, refined, and thoughtfully selected, these details enhance both comfort and longevity while reflecting our commitment to craftsmanship and timeless design.

Together, our fibres and finishing materials embody the values at the heart of Fiorella Myklebust Oslo: exceptional quality, responsible sourcing, and garments designed to be worn, treasured, and passed on for generations.

Vicuña - A story of survival, heritage and luxury

Once driven to the brink of extinction, the vicuña is today a symbol of resilience and one of the world’s most precious natural fibers. Through conservation efforts in Peru, its populations have recovered, allowing this extraordinary animal to roam the Andes once again. Its rarity, delicate fiber, and deep connection to the Peruvian landscape make vicuña a true expression of nature, heritage, and responsible luxury.
